- SECRETARIAT
The Chapter secretariat is still located in Lagos at the old College building despite the movement of the College to another location in Thorne borne street at Yaba. The NOC has fully and comprehensively renovated as well as furnish (painting, floor tiles, curtains, furniture, computers, air-conditioner) the two offices. A new staff has also been employed and the office is now equipped with a server for large volume data storage in-line with the re-organization of the secretariat.
The secretariat has captured about of 90% of fellows on its email data base and this has tremendously improved on our communication and information dissemination strategies. We have also perfected the strategy on timely communication through the various faculty group platforms.
However, the same cannot be said for Members because it has been very difficult to access the physicians in training data from the college. Work is still on going on the Telegraph platform that could accommodate us all.
The secretariat has completed the design of a new web-site and would come on board by the 1st of January, 2020.
The secretariat has achieved and celebrated a total paperless conduct of its meetings. This was evidently used for first time during our last AGM. It is my prayer that you forgive all short-comings on its applications before its full perfection

The secretariat is very proud to report the new heights that have been achieved in the organization, conduct, attendance as well as the packaging of events. The venues are now befitting as you would have noticed and the executive sessions are giving more fusibility to the chapter in the areas of collaborations and partnership
The attendance has increased to an enviable figure of more than four hundred participants in the last three editions and the financial return from the last editions has been sumptuous.

4. National Officers Committee/National Executive Committee (NEC) Meetings
The secretariat has hosted six NOC and nine successful National Executive Committee (NEC) meetings – April, July and October 2017, 2018 and respectively. However, in contrast to the previous meetings which were held in Ibadan during the College examinations, the April 2019 NEC meeting was held in Lagos at an extra cost to the chapter because of the decentralization of College examinations to two centers.
The first one day NEC/CBT for new NEC members was also held at Lagos in April 2019. Facilitators (Afolabi Lesi (Past SG), Dr Kayode Odusote (Former Admin Sec WAHC), Dr Abel Onunu (Chapter Chairman/VP Nigeria), Dr AA Akande (National Secretary), Dr Barbara Otaigbe (National Treasurer) were invited to present papers on various topics bordering on the College and Chapter operations.
- Constitution review
In-line with the recent integration and expansion of the College, a process was successfully put in-place to review, examine and consider a clause by clause proposal of amendments of the College constitution and bye-laws. The draft document of these amendments has been produced in consultation and with fruitful discussions with some past officers of the College including past College President, WAHC Administrative Secretary and Secretary General through advocacy visit and group consultation. The final draft taken as an approved AGM document has been sent to the Secretary General for further action.
- Chapter faculties
As a result of the Chapter effort to promote academic activities as a means of capacity building, the Chapter has successfully through engagement and support for all faculties mounted pre-conference workshop in all faculties. It is my hope that the faculties would come up with plans that would help them move to the next level.
- Chapter Faculty Symposium/Lecture
The 2020 Chapter faculty symposium and Sir Samuel Manuwa lecture would the mounted and delivered by the faculties of Psychiatry and Paediatrics respectively.
- Chapter Research And Grant TOT:
The Chapter has completed the TOT training of the Research and Grant committee under the able leadership of Dr BSC Uzochukwu. The TOT was held at Fidson Complex, Lagos between the 24th and 26th of September, 2019. It had a total of eighteen attendees, six facilitators and three organizers.
